Team drive

The team drive is a shared drive the team owns, not any member. Files stay when people leave, and permissions are set per folder.

Every team has one shared drive that the team owns. Files stay when someone leaves, they count against a pooled team quota, and every Nubo app opens and saves them like any other file. Find it in the Team Drive tab of Nubo Home.

Who can do what?

Role Default access
Owner, admin Manage everything: settings, folder permissions, trash and sharing. Permissions do not restrict them.
Member The team’s default for members, which is write, read or none on the whole drive.
Guest Nothing, except folders granted by a permission rule.

Removing or disabling a member takes effect at once. If the team’s app list does not include Drive, or the drive is switched off, nobody can open it.

How do folder permissions work?

You can add a rule on any folder for a role (member or guest) or a named user, with access none, read, write or manage. Rules apply to everything inside the folder; the most specific folder with a matching rule wins, and a rule for a named user beats a rule for a role. Folders where someone has no access are hidden from their listings, except folders that lead to something they were granted.

How much space does the team have?

Team storage is pooled. The quota is an admin override if one is set, otherwise the larger of a base amount and a per-seat amount, plus any extra 100 GB storage blocks. A write over quota is refused with a “storage limit reached” message, and the drive warns when it is almost full. The exact base and per-seat amounts are not yet published.

What happens when I delete something?

Items go to the team trash for 30 days by default and still count against the quota. The person who deleted them, or an admin, can restore them. After that they are purged. An admin can empty the trash, which deletes everything in it for good.

Can I share team drive files outside the team?

Only admins or people with manage access can, and only if external sharing is on. It is off by default. Shares are owned by the team, so they survive member changes. People on the team are given folder permissions instead of shares.

Is there an audit trail?

Yes. Every create, update, rename, move, copy, delete, restore, purge, permission change, settings change and external share is logged for one year with the team name.

What are the limits?

A move out of the team drive sends the source to the trash. Copying between your home and a team drive is done file by file, with a size check against the destination quota.
