Create an account and sign in

How to create a Nubo account, turn on two-step verification or a passkey, and recover access if you forget your password.

To create an account, go to home.nubosuite.tech, choose a username, enter your first and last name and a password of at least 10 characters. Your username also becomes your mailbox, username@nubo.email.

How do I create an account?

  1. Open Nubo Home and choose to create an account.
  2. Pick a username. Nubo checks that it is free, including against existing mailboxes, and suggests three free names if it is taken.
  3. Enter your first and last name. Both are required.
  4. Choose a password. It must be at least 10 characters, must not be a common password and must not contain your username.
  5. Optionally add a recovery email. Nubo sends a 6-digit code that is valid for 30 minutes; enter it to verify the address.

How do I join a team I was invited to?

Open the invitation link you received, enter your first and last name and finish sign-up. If your team uses its own domain, you sign in with your work address and its mailbox password. See Invites and members.

How do I sign in?

Enter your username and password. If the account has two-step verification you are then asked for a second step. A passkey signs you in on its own, with no second step.

A session lasts 30 days. If you tick “remember this device” on the second step, that device is not asked again for 30 days.

How do I turn on two-step verification?

Open Home, then the Security tab. You can add:

  • An authenticator app (a time-based code, 6 digits, changing every 30 seconds). Nubo also gives you 10 single-use backup codes.
  • A passkey (WebAuthn). Passkeys can sign you in without typing a username.
  • An emailed code, as an opt-in extra.

Changing sensitive settings (recovery email, authenticator, passkeys) asks you to confirm your password or passkey again; a confirmation lasts 10 minutes.

What if I forget my password?

Choose “forgot password” on the sign-in page. If your account has a verified recovery email, Nubo sends an 8-digit code and a link to it. The code is valid for 30 minutes, works once and allows 5 tries. Resetting your password signs you out of every session and forgotten device. Without a verified recovery email, Nubo cannot send a reset; write to support.

What alerts will I get?

Nubo emails you when someone signs in from a browser or system it has not seen, when your password changes, when two-step verification or a passkey is added or removed, when your recovery email changes and when your account is locked. Each new-device mail has a “this was not me” link. You can switch the new-sign-in and password-change alerts off per account.

What happens after too many wrong passwords?

The account is locked for a short time that grows with each failure (from 30 seconds up to 15 minutes after ten failures), and Nubo emails you.

Can my organization require two-step verification?

Yes. A team owner or admin can require it for everyone in the team and set a grace period. See Security settings for a team.

How do I see where I am signed in?

In the Security tab under “Where you are signed in” you can sign out one session or all other sessions.

How do I delete my account?

Open Account in Home and use Delete account. It signs you out everywhere and schedules the deletion with a 30-day period to change your mind. See Deleting your account for what is kept and what is not yet confirmed.
