Managing members
Change roles, choose which apps each member can use, give team addresses, disable or remove people, and check their security.
Members are managed in the Teams tab. Each row shows the member’s role, whether they are disabled, whether two-step verification is on, and their team address if they have one.
What can I change for a member?
- Role. Switch between member and admin (only the owner can make an admin).
- Apps. Choose which apps the member can use.
- Address. Give them
name@yourdomainonce the domain is verified. - Remove. Take them out of the team.
How do I free a seat without deleting someone?
Disable the member. A disabled member does not use a seat; turning them back on needs a free seat.
How do I add many people at once?
Invite each person from the Teams tab; a bulk import is not documented. People who already have a mailbox on your domain appear on the admin roster as pending and use no seat until they join.
How do I see who protects their account?
Next to each member the Teams tab shows “2-step on” or “2-step off”. To make it required for everyone, see Security settings for a team.
What happens to their files when they leave?
Files in the team drive stay with the team. Files in the person’s own storage stay with them. Anything you shared from your own storage can be revoked in the Shared tab.
How does an automation get set up?
Owners and admins use the Automations tab: a master switch, a list of rules, and a form for a new rule (an event such as invoice.issued, an optional condition, and a command or email to send). Rules act when the target app is open; see Reminders and recurring items.
